 A UK Rescue Story.

Once upon a time I might have looked at a picture like this with pleasure - it is certainly aesthetically pleasing but sadly today's reality for bull terriers and their pups is far removed from the nostalgic and sentimental imagery above. Let's compare with today's  reality below.

      ***********************************************************************************************************************0

Today animals are in crisis. Now commodified, they are disposed of like a piece of rubbish when people have got bored with them or when times are hard. With the so called `credit crunch` all types of animals are in insecure positions but the pounds are constantly full of bull breed dogs, notoriously staffordshire bull terriers who have been wickedly overbred for profit and as status symbols for the type of person who thinks that such a dog will make them `hard`. Recent documentary evidence has exposed staffies and other bull breeds being produced willy nilly in people's back rooms with absolutely no regard for their welfare. Conversely, they are often deliberately cruelly treated in the most heinous ways in order to make them aggressive so they can be `shown off` and become an extension of what is realistically `weaponry`. They are a very vulnerable breed, constantly in danger of ending up in the wrong hands and the fighting arena. The moral panic that has escalated out of this situation means that often the general public are uninformed and reliant only on sensationalist stories to develop their own stereotype of the bull terrier as evil monster and child attacker. This is a complete turnaround from the Victorian view when the Staffy's relationship with children was seen as that of a `nanny`.

PLEASE HELP THE STAFFY CRISIS AND THE BULLY CRISIS IN GENERAL BY OFFERING A HOME TO A RESCUED BULLY AND NOT ENCOURAGING THE BREEDING OF MORE AND MORE STAFFIES BY PURCHASING FROM A BREEDER. FOR EVERY PUP THAT IS BOUGHT A PUPPY IN A POUND DIES. PUPS ARE BEING PUT TO SLEEP AS YOUNG AS TWELVE WEEKS. IF YOU WANT A STAFFY PUP PLEASE SAVE ONE.

IF YOU CANNOT TAKE ON A STAFFY OR BULL BREED DOG YOURSELF YOU CAN HELP BY SUPPORTING THE RESCUES WHO DO. IT IS MASSIVELY IMPORTANT THAT INCOMING DONATIONS GO TO NEUTERING THESE DOGS SO THAT AT LEAST THE ONES THAT COME THROUGH RESCUES ARE STOPPED FROM CREATING EVEN MORE FOR AN EARLY DEATH. PLEASE HELP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN - DO NOT TURN AWAY. THESE ANIMALS HAVE NO VOICE OF THEIR OWN AND NEED REPRESENTATION. ANY AMOUNT IS APPRECIATED.

PLEASE HELP MY RESCUE WORK WITH BULL BREEDS AND BULL BREED CROSSES BY MAKING A PAYPAL DONATION TO:

                                                                                                   keverett@twohoots29.fsnet.co.uk
                                                                                                   STATING BULL TERRRIER RESCUE

PLEASE NOTE I DO NOT MAKE A PROFIT FROM ANY DOG I REHOME, IN FACT MOST DOGS INVOLVE A HUGE COST TO THIS RESCUE. FOR LIVES TO CONTINUE TO BE SAVED I DESPERATELY NEED YOUR SUPPORT. I DO NOT TAKE A WAGE OR PAY ANYONE A WAGE FOR HELPING THE ANIMALS THAT COME TO ME IN CRISIS. ALL MONIES GO DIRECTLY TO THE BENEFIT OF THE ANIMALS THEMSELVES.
