Doing rescue there is never time to grieve properly for the loss of a loved one. On the day that Wellington was put to sleep we had the arrival of Rupert, a lilac siamese, who suffered  nerve damage following a tail accident and has double incontinence. Rupert's former owner could not get any rescue to take Rupert in so Rupert now lives here as a permanent possy member and is sponsored by his former owner. He is a lovely boy of six years and as you can see from the photos below settled very well from the start.

A sad day today as darling Wellington was put to sleep. Wellington was one of the first rescue cats to come through Posh Puss Rescue. His brother Duke passed earlier this year. They were both lovely old gentlemen.

RIP little Wellington. So glad to have had you in my life.

Slow worm from my wildlife garden - remarkable little creatures. One day I caught one
swimming in the pond.

Slinkey has been back to stay for five days whilst her Mum goes into hospital.

During  the Summer months we concentrate heavily on rescuing pound dogs who are due for euthenasia because their seven day mandatory stay in the pound is up and they have remained unclaimed and unhomed. Dogs are taken in from pounds all across the UK and spend time here getting over their stressful time, being assessed and then going to great new forever homes.

Sisko from Yorkshire  in foster with Amy - still looking for a forever home as the only dog.

Arnie is an English Bull Terrier cross Rottie pup of 12 weeks and he did a very short spell here as my new voluntary
driver fell in love with him and offered him a forever home - what a lucky chap. Arnie now lives in Ivybridge.

Ellie who is taking Arnie home, falling in love with Lulu Puss and on the right Roxy, ex-poundie, now living on a smallholding.

Over the weekend we have had two new intakes - this delightful staffy cross who is looking  for a forever home (see Dogs for Rehoming Page)

and Pip the Ferret (left) who will make a fine new companion for Fergus.

Here are two of the British Shorthairs: Bridie and Bronte who are making good progress.

And here is Bell, the third British Shorthair who is also doing well.
These cats will be availalbe for rehoming once they are more handleable.

Hagrid has also been rehomed and now lives next door to me where she had befriended a little domestic
shorthair named `Gingerman` and is very happy.

It is always good to see photos of a former Posh Puss looking happy in their new home. Today we have some updates
on Bruno who was rehomed a few days ago.

Bruno previously lived with a labrador and now he is living with sweetie Ice who also spent 8 months
at this rescue and is the most angelic bull terrier I have ever come across. Bruno is a very laid back cat and
the two are a good match. I am sure it will not be long before they are firm friends. More photos of Bruno
can be seen on  the the rehomer's photos page.

Introducing Bronte (in the igloo) who is still very shy unlike little Owl Face Bridie!
Bridie is making excellent progress so let's hope that Bronte and Bel will learn from her. Bel is at the moment too shy to photograph.

Bronte likes to curl up inside an igloo so thank you to Nannette for donating her one.
What a shy little girl but with time and patience she may come along just like Bridie has.
Introducing Gertie Gull Chick who  fell off the roof and was being attacked
but is now safe and wolfing cat food at regular intervals
Gertie will be set free when she is big enough and can fly but right now she needs a little help
Here she is having a little wash and brush up!
Tequila is most intrigued.

Last weekend saw the arrival of three young British Shorthairs who are here from a breeder that has gone into liquidation.  The three have not been used to indoor life and so I am working with their socialisation. Keeping up the trend of incoming `B`'s I have called them `Bronte`, `Bridie` and `Bel`.
Bridie is by far the most confident, followed by Bronte whose esteem needs to be worked on and last of all sweet timid Bel but all will do well and flourish with some love and attention. The three are spayed and will be fully injected, deflead and dewormed before leaving here. They are not yet ready to go but I am open to contact re potential rehomes. Two are one year old and one is eighteen months old. More iamges will follow - these are day one and two for Bridie:

This photo shows the remarkable progress made by Bridie, an intelligent little soul.

HEMULEN HOLIDAY PUSS BELOW:

Rehomed Posh Puss Hemulen recently came back for eleven days hols. Here she is with her post.
And here she is playing

Darling Tamara Sprite who recently had to be put to sleep. Tamara was such a beautiful and fun loving girl
and is remembered with much fondness. Thank you to exowner Lynne for the support and Angel Cat book.
Some lovely memories of Tamara captured below:

Sweetypie Ollie Puss recently had to have lots of teeth out and a biopsy. Luckily her mass was not malignant.
Thanks to those good people who supported Ollie Puss which was most appreciated.
MEANWHILE - WHAT HAVE THE OTHER POSH PUSSIES BEEN UP TO?

Pansy has had an introduction to the garden
She enjoys exploring very much

But indoors can be fun as well if you have a catnip spider to play with!
Yes, Pansy, I think you have safely killed it!
Time for a rest on the cat tower
Nighty Night!
Poppy knows how to make relaxation into a fine art
See what I mean?
Poppy is something of a proverbial sofa spud and loves chilling out with her pals. Here she is with
Arthur Einstein, Mischa Creature, Jasper Mole and Demelza Fruitbat.
same pals, different positions.
And here's the Poppy basket photo.

So that's all the news on the recent recruits. Now check out the activities of some of the permanent possy:

Here's little Sally Gizmo having a rest on the stairs,
Leo the siamese fast asleep with Tequila the resident maine coon,
Arthur posing like and Egyptian artefact,
and Demelza pretending to be a cuddly toy.
Here's Honeybun posing next to the punchbowl
and looking equally charming in her garden basket.
Darling Monty Boston is becoming very senior.
Wellington is the most senior in the house but still loves to play outside.

ARTHUR PHOTOS
One of the cats that people always remember when they visit is Arthur the tonkinese. Subject of a book
that I am working on, Arthur is the most eccentric cat here although he is starting to mellow a bit with age.

In a calm and positive environment multi-cats can relax and become great friends. All the Posh Puss cats
are well integrated and happy.

Spice and Misty are a burmese and a burmilla who came in for rehoming together. They are now happy
in their new forever home. These are some of the photos of their stay here at Posh Puss Rescue.

Dear little Lulu (below) is a runt exotic shorthair.  Upon arrival here she had to have all her teeth out
apart from two. Thanks to everyone who helped with Lulu's appeal. She is now getting along just fine.

 Memories of Duke Boot
We were sad to lose Duke Boot to venerable old age at the start of this year
but Duke passed very peacefully and had had a happy few years here. Duke
leaves behind his sibling, Wellington, who is the oldest cat in the house.
Duke will be remembered as a  charming and quiet old gentleman.

Duke with Jess (now rehomed)

Here we see Duke with Mischa, Oscar and Sadie

We were hugely shocked when Oscar went downhill suddenly and after hospitalisation
had to be put to sleep. We miss his lively presence here. Oscar leaves his brother Leo
who fortunately is happy and continues to do well.

Leo
Honeybun is one of the permanent residents. She is only a young cat but had been through multiple homes
by the age of two hence has now got stability. Honey is a very active member of the gang, always busying
herself with something and loving to have fun in the garden. Thank you to Lucy from Cardiff who is Honey's
sponsor and also a loyal supporter of the Posh Puss cats in general.
